RAISING $10,000 IN 45 DAYS FOR THE POOR
In the summer of 2013, the Sing for Joy team will visit the Philippines together for the first time to build homes, distribute supplies to school children and the poor, and meet the people whose lives have been touched by our work. You can help make this possible!
We want to reach out to at least 1,000 families in 3 different parts of the Philippines (Davao, Manila, and Lucena)!

Hello! We are young people from the youth ministry CFC Youth in Northern California. Since 2007, we put on Sing for Joy Christian music concerts every year to raise money for our partner non-profit, ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor).
For the past 6 years we raised enough to build homes for the poorest of the poor in the Philippines and have built 30 homes in an Mayao Crossing, Lucena City village (with 15 under construction in Lopez, Quezon), funded a self-sustaining livelihood program, sponsored 150 children in preschool and built their school, and sponsored 20+ students to go to elementary, high school, and college.

A third of the population in the Philippines lives in poverty on less than $1.25 a day.
A large chunk of this campaign will be for donating backpacks, school supplies, groceries, hygiene items, and clothing to Typhoon Bopha victims, school children and their families in the ANCOP village. We also are distributing ponchos and rainboots to people who work in the dumpsters to keep them dry from the rain while working for their daily wages. These items will be purchased in Davao City, Philippines.
We also need to cover expenses such as shipping boxes of donations, transport between islands, renting a van for our team, gasoline, food, and lodging. By defraying these costs, we can focus our resources on local outreach. The team is shouldering their own airfare expenses.
